Hokkaido Touring

I went to Hokkaido by motorcycle this summer. I drove about 2000 km in 9 Days. There were many wonderful places in Hokkaido, so many riders visit Hokkaido. I wanted to visit a lot of places, but I was short of time. This time, I will introduce some wonderful places I visited.

 First, I'll introduce White Seashell Road (白い貝殻の道). It's located in Wakkanai City near Soya Cape. White seashells are spread across the road. The road is beautiful and the view is very good. It's hard to find the entrance and the road is narrow, so you need to be careful while driving.



Second, I'll introduce Kami no Ko Ike (神の子池). It's located in Kiyosato Town. This pond was very transparent and beautiful blue. It was very a mysterious place. However, the way to the pond is bad and you need to be careful because there are a lot of insects.




Third, I'll introduce Washoichiba (和商市場). It's located in Kushiro City near Kushiro Station. A characteristic of this place is Katte Bowl(勝手丼). You can put your favorite things on rice and make your own rice bowl. Some things can only be eaten here. However, it is regrettable that the price is high.






Hokkaido was a wonderful place. I still want to go again because there are places I want to visit.

Akina Or Haruna?

"Mizo Otoshi" Have you read "Initial D"? I'm a fan of "Initial D". It's a famous car manga. It was published in 1995. The main character is "Takumi Fujiwara" the son of a tofu shop owner. He delivers tofu every morning on the mountain road. The mountain road name is Mt. Akina. Mt. Akina often appears in "Initial D". "Takumi Fujiwara" found a new way of driving on Mt. Akina.  This is "Mizo Otoshi". It's a way of driving the inner tire in a groove and driving a corner at a high speed. He often does that skill with five consecutive hairpin turns. The Initial D course  I wanted to go to this stage and I went by my motorcycle. However, there are many mountain roads in this manga, and the name is different from reality only in this mountain road. In reality Mt. Akina is called Mt. Haruna. Honda Welcome Plaza AOYAMA

Do you know Honda? Honda is a leading automobile and motorcycle manufacturer in Japan. It was made in 1946 by Souichirou Honda. Honda's head office's in Aoyama. The first floor of the head office building is a showroom. There are new cars and motorcycles there. You can also see  a demonstration of ASHIMO made by Honda. There is a cafe space so you can take a break. In the showroom, events are held related to motor sports. I'd like to introduce one of the events. Every summer there is a race at Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture. The event is called Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race. A lot of people watch each year. In that race, they have teams of two people. Honda has had a lot of good results in that race. In the summer, an event related to that race was held. Many motorcycles participating in successive races were exhibited in the showroom. Tokyo Motor Show

Yamaha NIKEN Yamaha YZF-R1M&MOTOBOT Honda NSX Mazda VISION COUPE I went to the Tokyo Motor Show on November 5. It was held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 27 to November 5. It was the 45th meeting this time. The Tokyo Motor Show began in 1954. Many people visited, not only from Japan, but also from overseas. There you see the manufacture's new model cars and motorcycles. Also, if you can make a reservation, it's also possible to test drive new model cars. However, the test drive was so, popular I couldn't get reservation. NTN booth At this event I found a very nice booth. It's a parts manufacturer of the NTN company. This manufacturer mainly makes bearings. Bearings are parts for smooth rotation in cars and motorcycles and more. It seems that 150 bearings are used in a car.
