Get A License


Do you like motorcycles? I love motorcycles very much. On a motorcycle, you feel the wind and it feels good. And it takes me to various places. I think motorcycles are very wonderful.

I went to a driving school to take a large motorcycle license this summer. With an ordinary motorcycle license, I can't ride motorcycles over 400cc, but I thought that wanted to ride more a larger motorcycles. The motorcycle used in the teaching of a large motorcycle license is a Honda NC750L. The maximum power is 37 PS and the weight is 228 kg. Unlike a commercial motorcycle, the driving school motorcycle has bumpers to protect the engine and lamps that show how fast the gears are. Compared with an ordinary motorcycle, the large motorcycle is more powerful. How ever, I thought the weight didn't change much.



At the school you learn how to ride a motorcycle and how to ride on a public road. Unlike a car, there is no on-the-road training in the motorcycle lesson. The lesson contents are crank corner, S-shape corner, braking, slalom. Above all, it is difficult for a bridge of picture. With a large motorcycle, you have to run over the bridge for more than 10 seconds, and you will be disqualified if you fall. I think that it is important to keep your motorcycle securely on your legs and to look in the direction you want to go.




For test of large motorcycles, you run through a rough path called a wave-shaped road. This also has a time limit and you must ride for more than 5 seconds. You have to ride slowly while keeping your balance. In this test, you must standing, so you need different tips.





I recommend getting a license and going out touring. It is fun, and you will discover new things.

Akina Or Haruna?

"Mizo Otoshi" Have you read "Initial D"? I'm a fan of "Initial D". It's a famous car manga. It was published in 1995. The main character is "Takumi Fujiwara" the son of a tofu shop owner. He delivers tofu every morning on the mountain road. The mountain road name is Mt. Akina. Mt. Akina often appears in "Initial D". "Takumi Fujiwara" found a new way of driving on Mt. Akina.  This is "Mizo Otoshi". It's a way of driving the inner tire in a groove and driving a corner at a high speed. He often does that skill with five consecutive hairpin turns. The Initial D course  I wanted to go to this stage and I went by my motorcycle. Honda Collection Hall

I would like to introduce Honda Collection Hall. This is located on the Twin Ring Motegi.  Twin Ring Motegi is a famous international circuit.  It's located in Tochigi  Prefecture .  There are many cars and motorcycles and more. You can also learn about Honda's roots and feeling about making things. This is the first prototype engine of Honda. It was made in 1947. The first engine was made as an auxiliary engine for a bicycle. However, it was not commercialized due to durability problem. I saw this motorcycle and I thought it was interesting. The gasoline tank was just a hot water bottle! This building has three floors. On the first floor you can know the history of Honda. On the second floor, Production Motorcycles, Production Mars and Power Products are on exhibition. On the  third floor, Racing Motorcycles and Racing Cars are on exhibition. Tokyo Motor Show

It was the 45th meeting this time. The Tokyo Motor Show began in 1954. Many people visited, not only from Japan, but also from overseas. There you see the manufacture's new model cars and motorcycles. Also, if you can make a reservation, it's also possible to test drive new model cars. However, the test drive was so, popular I couldn't get reservation. NTN booth At this event I found a very nice booth. It's a parts manufacturer of the NTN company. This manufacturer mainly makes bearings. Bearings are parts for smooth rotation in cars and motorcycles and more. It seems that 150 bearings are used in a car.
