My Favorite Touring Places

I would like to introduce my favorite touring places. I have been touring to various places. Among them, Chichibu is my favorite place. Chichibu is located in Saitama Prefecture. It's popular as a sightseeing spot, and there are many passes. Among them, I'll introduce my two favorite passes. The two passes appear in "Initial D".




Shomaru Bowl and Genghis Khan

First, I'll introduce Shomaru Pass. The distance is about 6 km. There is a teahouse at the top. You can eat and buy stickers there. Shoumaru Bowl is the specialty of this shop.  Old woman in the shop is a very good person. The altitude is 636 m and it's about the same height as Tokyo Sky Tree.  It's an old narrow road, and the road surface is rough, so you need to be careful while driving. I think it's a good pass where many charms are packed.
Teahouse 






Udon noodle shop
Second, I'll introduce Sadamine Pass. This is part of Saitama Prefectual Route 11. The distance is about 5 km. Here also, there are a teahouse and an udon noodle shop. Oni udon is the specialty of this shop.
Oni udon 
This udon noodle shop is famous among car lovers. The owner takes a picture of the customer with the customer's car. You can wait for food while watching the album. The road surface is clean. I think that it is the most enjoyable pass.

Chichibu has many delicious foods and fun places. I think that it is a very nice place to go easily from the central Tokyo. Please visit as it is a recommended place.

Akina Or Haruna?

"Mizo Otoshi" Have you read "Initial D"? I'm a fan of "Initial D". It's a famous car manga. It was published in 1995. The main character is "Takumi Fujiwara" the son of a tofu shop owner. He delivers tofu every morning on the mountain road. The mountain road name is Mt. Akina. Mt. Akina often appears in "Initial D". "Takumi Fujiwara" found a new way of driving on Mt. Akina.  This is "Mizo Otoshi". It's a way of driving the inner tire in a groove and driving a corner at a high speed. He often does that skill with five consecutive hairpin turns. The Initial D course  I wanted to go to this stage and I went by my motorcycle. However, there are many mountain roads in this manga, and the name is different from reality only in this mountain road. In reality Mt. Akina is called Mt. Haruna. Honda Collection Hall

I would like to introduce Honda Collection Hall. This is located on the Twin Ring Motegi.  Twin Ring Motegi is a famous international circuit.  It's located in Tochigi  Prefecture .  There are many cars and motorcycles and more. You can also learn about Honda's roots and feeling about making things. This is the first prototype engine of Honda. It was made in 1947. The first engine was made as an auxiliary engine for a bicycle. However, it was not commercialized due to durability problem. I saw this motorcycle and I thought it was interesting. The gasoline tank was just a hot water bottle! This building has three floors. On the first floor you can know the history of Honda. On the second floor, Production Motorcycles, Production Mars and Power Products are on exhibition. On the  third floor, Racing Motorcycles and Racing Cars are on exhibition. Tokyo Motor Show

Yamaha NIKEN Yamaha YZF-R1M&MOTOBOT Honda NSX Mazda VISION COUPE I went to the Tokyo Motor Show on November 5. It was held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 27 to November 5. It was the 45th meeting this time. The Tokyo Motor Show began in 1954. Many people visited, not only from Japan, but also from overseas. There you see the manufacture's new model cars and motorcycles. Also, if you can make a reservation, it's also possible to test drive new model cars. However, the test drive was so, popular I couldn't get reservation. NTN booth At this event I found a very nice booth. It's a parts manufacturer of the NTN company. This manufacturer mainly makes bearings. Bearings are parts for smooth rotation in cars and motorcycles and more. It seems that 150 bearings are used in a car.
